Doug taps into his 30 years of professional leadership, instruction, and interpersonal communication skills to impart “ah-ha” moments to others. He has a heart for helping individuals succeed and help them achieve their goals by becoming intentional about their actions. Doug uses his co-active coaching skills to gain keen insight and assist people to move beyond their roadblocks. His approach to developing effective leaders comes from the perspective that leadership is not just about who is in charge, but it includes those who follow. Doug understands that the roles followers take determine the success or failure of the leader and the organization. He has provided training internationally, including in Africa, Central America, the Caribbean, and the Middle East.

Doug is a Life Protection Coach, who earned a third-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has served as a law enforcement Defensive Tactics Instructor. He currently provides life protection instruction to non-law enforcement men, women, and children, and has consulted with groups regarding their organizational security. Doug’s martial arts experience includes Karate, Aikido, Kali, Silat, Ju Jitsu, Tai Chi Chuan, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Doug holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), specializing in Leadership and a Master of Science in Education (MSEd), specializing in Training and Performance Improvement. His academic specializations are seamlessly blended with his practical experience to create insightful and innovative approaches to human performance interventions. Doug is a certified Emotional Intelligence (EIQ-2) Assessment Practitioner, a Georgia registered Mediator, a former certified federal and local law enforcement Defensive Tactics Instructor, and a certified John Maxwell Team Coach, Speaker, and Trainer.
